Declaring War on Health Checks

Substantial reductions in the price of employee health checks are now making them even more attractive to employers. Employee health checks boost company profits by improving the health and productivity of employees, however high prices have prevented high wide spread uptake of such services. A recent aggressive pricing campaign aims to make health checks affordable to all companies.

Health checks for employees, delivered in the workplace, are becoming more and more popular for companies looking to increase profits and retain staff. Improved staff health results are visible through increased productivity and reduced absenteeism, benefitting both the employer and employee. The benefits of employee health checks are becoming so evident that last year the Victorian Government launched its WorkHealth program, providing all Victorian companies with access to free employee health checks.

So if the benefits are so great, why don't all companies offer employee health checks? Put simply, the price of health checks has limited uptake by employers. The corporate health industry has been dominated by a small number of providers who were able to charge exorbitant prices, helping them profit from the large companies who were willing to pay dearly for the benefits. With the increased demand for corporate health services in recent years, health check provider FitSense Australia is now offering health checks at a fraction of the price.

FitSense Australia's Managing Director Ben Wisbey stated "Health check providers have been profiteering for years, so we are now making health checks affordable to all organisations."

Wisbey elaborated "If we relate this to air travel, our competitors only offer first class seating, but with FitSense Australia's new health check offerings, economy airfares are now on the market. This opens up the opportunity of improved employee health to a much greater number of organisations".

We have seen competitive pricing in other industries increase the choice and affordability for consumers. If this aggressive pricing in the corporate health industry has a similar impact, the result will undoubtedly benefit many companies and their employees.
